Saga Furs September auction concluded on a strong note

SAGA FURS SEPTEMBER AUCTION CONCLUDED ON A STRONG NOTE

Press release, Saga Furs: Competition among fur buyers was keen at the Saga Furs September auction as a result of heavy demand for all types of fur from various markets. The 4-days of sales ended on Friday and marked the final auction for the 2012-13 selling season. Price levels for fox and Finnraccoon pelts increased from the previous levels.

The value of September auction sales amounted to 106 million euros (91.4 million in September 2012). The total sales value for Saga Furs' 14 month financial period amounted to 982 million euros.

A total of 527,000 fox and 29,000 Finnraccoon pelts were sold at the auction, which was attended by over 350 buyers from various markets. Main buying Hong Kong/China with good support from Turkey, Russia and the Western fashion industry.

On the last selling day an offering of 141,000 Saga® Blue fox lowgrades and breeders was 100 % sold at high prices. Main buying by Hong Kong/ China, balance well spread.

Saga Furs will begin the new sales season at the 20-23 December auction.
