Two of the world's four major fur auction houses are located in Europe. 

Kopenhagen Fur is located outside Copenhagen, Denmark and is the world's largest fur auction house. The Danish auction house is the market leader in mink skins, the dominating article on the world market.

Kopenhagen Fur has about 20 million fur skins on offer at five annual fur auctions. The sales of the Danish auction house exceeded EUR 1.4 billion in 2011-2012.

Saga Furs is located outside Helsinki in Finland. The Finnish auction is the market leader in fox fur. At four annual auctions Saga Furs offer about 9 million fur skins. Sales in 2011-2012 were EUR 695 million.

The European fur auction houses primarily collect skins in Europe. The vast majority of the skins sold in the auction house is exported outside Europe.
